Festivals
As you know, we have festivals in every religion and culture. Our religious festivals are Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha while our cultural festivals are Pakistan Day and Independence day and likewise in other countries.
But do you want to know how fun our festivals are? We recite poems and our National Song on Pakistan and Independance Days. We get Eidi (money or gifts from elders) on Eid-ul-Fitr and eat the delicious meat of sacrificed animals on Eid-ul-Adha. Isn't this fun? Do you want to know their history? Don't worry, not too much.
History of Festivals
Pakistan Day
On this day, Muslims of subcontinent determined to get a separate country for freedom to practice Islam.
Pakistan Independance Day
On this day, our country was separated from the sub-continent as Pakistan.
Eid-ul-Fitr
This day is a relief for the muslims who have been fasting a whole month. You do hard work abstaining from bad deeds, food and water; don't you need a day to rest and rejoice? (Well, we need three)
Eid-ul-Adha
At this day, Ibraheem A.S took Ismail A.S for sacrificing because Allah ordered him to sacrifice his only son whom he got after a long wait through a dream repeated for three nights. He obeyed so readily that Allah rewarded him by absolving him from the sacrifice and gave him a ram to sacrifice instead. So it became 'The Day of Sacrifice'.
